I do not know whether you have ever thought of it, but you can get off the grid. The electricity grid that is. Is it anything that you are interested in? For some people, getting off the grid is the Holy Grail of modern life. We all feel that we are being milked dry by the energy firms and our soldiers are being killed on a daily basis to secure the West’s supply of fossil fuels.

If the same quantity of money was invested in emergent alternative technology, we would not need to import so much oil, but that would mean less profits for the energy companies too. So the average guy on the street loses out to the rich oil tycoons and people are milked for money and soldiers die on both sides.

You cannot rely on these people to help you use less energy, it is not in their interest. The only thing you can do is take the bull by the horns and sort yourself out. Get yourself off the grid, save yourself money in the long term and help save the planet and our soldiers too.

If you have lots of money, a solar or wind powered system will cost you about $45,000 and it will take about ten years to recoup your investment by getting off the grid. However, you can get the same system for much less than half that amount.

The fact is that technology has progressed rapidly in the field of solar power, as it has in every other technological sphere. Scorching sunshine is no longer necessary to produce a steady flow of electricity and prices have fallen. However, labour prices have risen and over-compensated for this fall. Herein lies our opportunity.

It is not hard to make your own solar panels and the components are readily obtainable in even small towns. The same holds true for systems that will create electricity from wind or water. The trick is to get a detailed diagram from which to build your solar panels or other equipment.

Once you have made your sustainable energy resources, they are practically maintenance free, although you may have to top up the batteries with sulphuric acid or distilled water.

Living off the grid is a magnificent feeling. Knowing that you are out of the clutches of the oil barons brings more freedom and the next time there is a power cut or a price hike, you can just give a smile and forget about it, because you will be living off the grid.

Enjoying the outdoors is one of the more relaxing activities we can indulge in, but it can be quite difficult with our daily schedules. It’s tough to find time after a long work day to get outside. Paintball rules. I love to play it whenever I can, and I always can’t wait until I get to play again. In this article I will share with you a few reasons why I think paintball rules.

Amusement parks are fun and all, but even the excitement and rush I get from riding the highest roller coaster doesn’t compare to excitement and rush I get from playing paintball. Right at the start of the game, until the very end, it is a huge rush.

You never know what is going to happen in each game. You could guess, but the truth is, every game of paintball is different from the rest. Even after a thousand games, each game is always different. This makes each game as exciting as the first one you played in.

Are you more of a sniper that likes to stay hidden, or would you rather take the battle head on and send your paintballs flying at your opponents as much as possible. There’s a style for everyone.

Just as NASCAR racers tune and customize their cars how they want them, paintballers customize their markers exactly how they want them. There are hundreds of ways you can customize your marker and as a paintballer, your marker is a reflection of you as a player. You not only get to pick the marker that suits you, but you also can customize your marker exactly how you want it. It’s always fun to look at other people’s markers to see what set up they have.

I recommend to anyone that hasn’t played it that you try it out. I do have to say that it isn’t for everyone, but many people that I know who have tried it loved it. I think this sport rocks because it is full of action, it never get’s old because each game is different, and you get to have a sweet paintball marker that you can deck out to the point that it is uniquely yours.
